Meeting about Community Compost site at the Freeville Community Garden

The Compost Education Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County is partnering with the Freeville Community Garden to offer community composting in the Village! Gardeners, nearby residents and those who frequent Groton Ave Park are invited to become members of our “Compost Learning Collaborative.” After a 45-minute training session, new members may begin adding appropriate food and yard/garden scraps to the compost. Members who help to manage the material will go home with finished compost for their property or garden. Extra compost will be made available to the Freeville Community Garden. There is no experience necessary to participate in this free, community project.

Come to the Village Hall on Wed, August 23 at 7pm to learn more about this opportunity and have any questions answered. Refreshments provided. Contact Stephanie Ortolano by email sortolano@gmail.com or phone 708-8088 for more info.
