FIRST PHASE OF REOPENING

Beginning Monday, June 8th the Village of Freeville Clerk’s Office will be open for appointments only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, 8-11am.   You must call ahead to schedule an appointment (607) 844-8301, or email the Deputy Clerk at deputyclerk@freevilleny.org

In order to reduce traffic while we start the process of reopening, we encourage residents to continue utilizing our drop-box at the Village Hall entrance for any matters not requiring face-to-face contact. The drop-box can be used for tax payments, garbage tag requests, and paperwork for the Clerk and/or Code Enforcement Official. 

If you need garbage tags, you may leave payment ($11 per sheet) along with a self-addressed stamped envelope in the drop box at the Village Hall entrance, or mail payments/stamped envelopes to the Village of Freeville, PO Box 288, 13068.  Garbage tag sheets can also be purchased at Kinney Drugs (Dryden location).  

Until further notice, Village meetings will continue to be held via ZOOM.

The Village Court remains closed to the public, as it falls under the jurisdiction of the New York State Unified Court System. Some administrative work has begun, but significant restrictions remain; hearings and public access have not restarted.  You can utilize the drop-box at the Court entrance for any Court related matters, or you can reach the Court Clerk by:

Village Clerk’s Office Health & Safety Precautions Instituted 

You should NOT visit the Village Clerk’s Office if you:

  • Have had a recent onset of fever, cough, shortness of breath, or body aches
  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  • Have been in contact with a person with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days

All visitors MUST:

  • Wear a mask (we have a limited supply available, if needed)
  • Use hand sanitizer as you enter the building (provided)
  • Sign in with your name and contact information (phone and/or email)

Clerk transactions will be restricted to the Clerk’s counter, and Code Enforcement business will be restricted to the conference area.  Only one visitor will be permitted into the building at a time. Staff will sanitize counter surfaces after each transaction, and permit the next visitor into the building after surfaces are sanitized.
